July’s Current and Future Conditions Remain Positive
7 July 2026
Survey responses were collected from July 15-29, 2026.
The Current Conditions component registered 63.0 in July, essentially unchanged from June’s reading of 63.2 and remaining in expansionary territory. Thirty-nine percent of respondents reported “better” conditions, 13 percent reported “worse,” and 48 percent indicated conditions were unchanged. Compared to the prior month, the distribution of responses showed a slightly smaller share reporting both better and worse conditions, with more respondents indicating stability. Respondent comments suggested conditions remained generally positive, supported by data center, energy, infrastructure, and industrial demand, though tariff uncertainty, raw material costs, procurement delays, and softness in some markets continued to weigh on activity.
