Fulltrades Becomes First Electrical Distributor To Achieve Make It American™ Certification

September 25, 2025

ARLINGTON, Va. – The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) today announced that NEMA member Fulltrades obtained NEMA’s Make It AmericanTM certification, becoming the first electrical equipment distributor to participate in the innovative program. NEMA launched the Make It American certification program to help the market identify products and manufacturing facilities that have implemented best-in-class processes to meet Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) domestic content requirements.

Fulltrades, a trusted supplier partner to the nation’s electrical manufacturers, has earned NEMA’s Process Certification (NEMA 70901-2024), underscoring its commitment to a transparent supply chain, strong supplier relationships, and rigorous product tracking. This certification confirms Fulltrades’ ability to clearly identify and deliver NEMA-BABA compliant products for use in federally funded infrastructure projects.

The U.S. electrical manufacturing sector is one of the nation’s largest, contributing 1% of GDP and supporting more than 580,000 American jobs. To strengthen the manufacturing sector and its supply chain partners, NEMA launched the Make It American certification program, designed to simplify domestic sourcing by providing clarity, transparency, and reliability.

“Electrical distributors play a critical role in the electrical supply chain – and Fulltrades is no exception,” said NEMA President and CEO Debra Phillips. “By earning NEMA’s Make It American certification for their supply chain and a facility, Fulltrades is leading the way for distributors across the country. They’re not only setting an example, but are also bringing the sector – and the industry-led reshoring movement – forward.”

NEMA’s process certification positions distributors as front-line leaders in domestic sourcing and compliance. With process-certified manufacturers, distributors can confidently stock and sell products that meet federal infrastructure requirements, minimizing reputational and legal risks for themselves and their customers.

“Fulltrades already has a proud history of success in delivering electrical equipment on-time and on-budget to customers in unique situations,” said Fulltrades President Adrián Castro. “Now that we’ve earned this certification, we’re looking forward to shaping the homegrown future of electrical supply chains, too.”

NEMA’s Make It American certification program is a comprehensive initiative that includes precedent-setting standards, certifications, and resources to help electrical manufacturers navigate domestic content requirements. Through these tools, NEMA empowers manufacturers and distributors to make informed decisions, strengthen critical supply chains, and support U.S. infrastructure and economic growth. Companies that successfully complete the certification audit are granted marks to showcase their rigorous supply chain processes, commitment to transparency, and enhanced domestic manufacturing footprint.
